Now I’d like to list what is common across the writing styles — Narrative, Poetry and Play.
Preparation is a must for all writing styles (who, what, when, where)
Characters (e.g, the narrator, the schoolgirl, the teacher)
Settings (schoolyard), conflict (who is the best?), climax (really interesting or exciting part)
Good structure (beginning, middle and end)
It can be fiction or non-fiction
Carefully chosen language to grab the reader’s attention and keep them reading (sparky language (adjectives, adverbs)!)
The use of writing tools such as alliteration, onomatopoeia, metaphor, simile, rhyming
Good storyline
Proofreading texts again and again (grammar, spelling, capital letters)
A message to think about and learn from
Entertainment and fun for the reader
Express thoughts or feelings
Visual presentation (images, colours, font)
Show your passion for writing
