What is common across the writing styles — Narrative, Play and Poetry
To answer this question I’d first of all like to explain what each one is with an example and then list what is common across the writing styles.
What is a narrative?
A narrative tells a story usually to entertain, motivate or teach. There are many types of stories to choose from. They could be science fiction, fantasy, fables, classics. A narrative usually needs these elements: characters, settings, conflict, climax (really interesting or exciting part), conclusion. It can be fiction or non-fiction.
Shoplifting in my local supermarket by Fionúir Mc Bennett(fiction).
When I was recently shopping in my local supermarket, I noticed a shoplifter who was sneakily stealing some sunglasses. I was surprised to see this pretty, well-dressed woman doing this. I was about to leave when a security guard stopped me and told me to wait a bit. The police car arrived with its flashing lights outside! The police officers rushed into the supermarket and arrested her immediately. Some minutes later the make-up was back in its right place again!
Characters: The narrator, the security guard, the policemen, the shoplifter
Settings: The local supermarket
Conflict: The shoplifter stealing
